A leading university hospital trust in Norwich is seeking a Part-time General Consultant Anaesthetist to provide comprehensive anaesthesia services across various specialties. The successful candidate will have full GMC registration and be involved in clinical governance activities. This role includes responsibilities for adult patients, with an emphasis on collaborative work across multiple sites within the hospital group. Benefits include flexible working hours, excellent pension scheme, and career development support.
The post is for a Part‑time General Consultant Anaesthetist for 7.5PA’s per week. The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals. The appointee will take his/her share of clinical responsibilities within the Department of anaesthesia, including peri‑operative assessment clinics where required.
We welcome all applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion. Additionally, people with disabilities will be offered an interview provided they meet the minimum criteria for the post. The Trust operates job share and flexible working. All future senior medical and dental appointments will be expected to work in collaboration across the Group and be willing to work on more than one hospital site.
In addition to duties within subspecialty, the appointee will be required to provide anaesthesia for adult patients in all specialties as appropriate to his/her training and experience. The post holder will be expected to provide a commitment to on‑call activity or weekend elective activity.
All postholders, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme: active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.
Full GMC with licence to practise required on application.
The James Paget University Hospital, The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn are now working in partnership as the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group. All postholders will be expected to work across the group and may work on more than one hospital site. Service location may change as our future models of care are developed.
