The Endometriosis Centre is a BGSE-accredited tertiary service with a commitment to excellence in multidisciplinary clinical care, surgical innovation, and high-quality training.

Main duties of the job

As a tertiary referral unit, we provide care for patients with complex endometriosis. The successful applicant will work within a long-established multidisciplinary team, including colleagues in urology and colorectal surgery.

The post will comprise 9.5 sessions each week, including outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary meetings, surgical operating lists, and inpatient ward rounds. The post holder will also participate in the gynaecology consultant on-call rota and should possess the required clinical skills to respond to gynaecological emergencies.

Person Specification

Professional Qualifications

• oEligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise.
• oMRCOG or appropriate specialist registration
• oRelevant CCT or equivalent ('equivalence' must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
• oEntry onto the GMC Specialist Register (O&G) or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC

Clinical Experience

• oClinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required of a UK CCT.

Clinical Skills

• oExcellent skills in endometriosis surgery, both laparoscopic and minimal access
• oCompetency in emergency gynaecology procedures including ectopic and miscarriage
• oCompetence in robotic surgery

Clinical Knowledge

• oExcellent knowledge of the diagnosis and management of gynaecological malignancies
