Job description

We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Endocrinology & Diabetes on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis.

The successful appointee will be joining a trust that has an ambitious and inclusive vision to improve health and well‑being for our local population. The Trust, formed in 2015 by an acquisition that brought together acute and community health and social care services into a single integrated care organisation (ICO), is committed to delivering an exciting and ambitious new model of care for the population based within South West England. The model of care aims to support people as close to their own home as possible and empower them to manage their own health and wellbeing as far as they are able.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with local GPs.
  • Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes.
  • Liaise with clinicians and managers within and outside the department to address any issues arising that may affect the services.
  • Work flexibly with colleagues to meet the needs of the service and achieve Trust and National targets.
  • Contribute to Diabetes and Endocrinology MDTs.
  • Participate with General Inpatient Medicine on‑call rota.
  • Provide Diabetes and Endocrinology specialist support to other inpatient medical teams.
  • Be responsible for the clinical management of all patients under your care and be proactive in ensuring that all patients receive rapid assessment, treatment and clinical decision making, whilst ensuring our standard to deliver safe, quality care is sustained.
