A leading NHS Trust in Wakefield is seeking an Emergency Consultant to provide high-quality care in a dynamic team environment. Successful candidates will support the delivery of emergency services and participate in clinical leadership activities. This full-time role includes responsibilities at both Wakefield and Dewsbury sites, fostering a collaborative culture focused on patient care and professional development.

We are a diverse group of Emergency Consultants with many special interests and new colleagues are actively supported to develop or expand their area of specialist interest through personalised, flexible job plans. These posts form part of the expansion of our consultant workforce, with the aim of moving towards overnight cover. Successful applicants will join a team of over 30 ED Consultants, working a 24-week whole time equivalent rota to provide senior medical staff presence on site from 08:00 to 00:00, including weekend working on a one-in-eight basis. The team works equally across 2 sites, with Pinderfields Hospital being our Major Emergency Department and designated Major Trauma Unit. Both Dewsbury and Pinderfields have 24/7 separate dedicated childrens EDs.
This post is offered on a full time, 10 PA basis. Duties will be based primarily on our Wakefield (Pinderfields) and Dewsbury sites although all our medical staff are involved in delivering care to patients on both sites. The main duties of the post will include:
