Job description
Position Overview

This permanent 10‑person consultant role is based in the Emergency Department of Royal Bolton Hospital. The successful consultant will join a team of 15 other specialists to provide comprehensive clinical support to medical and nursing staff.

Main Duties
  • Provide clinical supervision and support the 24‑hour intermediate grade cover for junior doctors and nurse practitioners.
  • Maintain clinical presence on the shop floor during weekdays and as arranged at weekends.
  • Attend general follow‑up clinics and ward rounds each weekday morning.
  • Lead improvement programmes for Rapid Assessment and Triage and support the development of the Urgent Treatment Centre.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified consultant in Emergency Medicine (or Paediatric Emergency Medicine).
  • Strong clinical experience in a large NHS Acute Trust.
  • Experience in leading departmental improvement initiatives and educational programmes.
Working Pattern

Full‑time with annualised, self‑rostered shifts allowing significant flexibility.

Contract & Salary

Permanent contract. Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 per annum, pro‑rata.
