Our client is currently one of the largest trusts within the UK, with over 20,000 NHS staff. The hospital is a pioneering facility responsible for acute and community health services, including a specialist hospital for acute surgery, and is historically significant as the place where the world's first IVF baby was delivered. The trust promotes a supportive and open culture focused on learning and improvement, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and teamwork, which has contributed to their excellent CQC rating.

The successful appointee will be expected to:

  1. Provide established inpatient care for older people.
  2. Contribute to the development of innovative geriatric services, including potential expansion into frailty services such as in-reach into emergency departments, rapid access clinics, and specialist inpatient care.
  3. Work collaboratively to establish robust geriatric services aligned with the trust's goals.
  4. Deliver high-quality patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  5. Potentially take on ward responsibilities and supervise junior doctors.
  6. Participate in medical audits and use outcomes to improve patient care.

The location offers high-quality housing, excellent schools, a vibrant cultural scene, and good transport links to Manchester and the North West's outdoor areas.

Additional information includes:

  • 10 Programmed Activities (P.A's)
  • Prestigious NHS Trust
  • Supportive and friendly team
  • GMC Registration required
