A prominent healthcare provider in Leicester is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to provide high-quality care at the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre. Responsibilities include managing clinical standards, training junior staff, and participating in service development. Applicants should have a Consultant Anaesthetist qualification and experience in anaesthesia. This position offers opportunities for leadership, teaching, and involvement in multidisciplinary collaborations.
Applications are invited for an individual to provide high quality anaesthetic care as a Consultant Anaesthetist based within the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre (EMCHC) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
We undertake a range of congenital cardiac cases including surgery for univentricular hearts and catheter procedures such as RVOT stents and PA flow restrictors. Paediatric Cardiac Catheter procedures are undertaken within the new hybrid theatre. The centre is part of an excellent ECMO service for both paediatrics and adults. Adult congenital cardiac surgery and catheter procedures are carried out at the Glenfield’s hospital site and the successful candidate would be expected to provide cross‑cover.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: if successful and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a DBS check. The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three‑month period commencing on your first month's payment (enhanced £38, standard £18).
