Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is inviting a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community CAMHS team in Launceston, North Cornwall. The post supports leaders, trainers, and researchers while delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents.

Qualifications

  • CCT or equivalent in CAMHS Psychiatry.
  • Full GMC Registration and license.
  • Eligibility for Section 12 and AC Approval.
  • Inclusion (or eligibility for inclusion) on the specialist or specialty Trainee within 6 months of gaining CCT.
  • Experience in teaching at post-graduate and/or undergraduate level.
  • Audit and/or research experience.

Responsibilities

Main duties of the job

This post is part of the leadership team within the service and will provide appropriate support and supervision to other team members. The post holder will be part of a clinical team providing specialist psychiatric advice to the multidisciplinary team. There is the potential to support medical trainees and advanced clinical practitioners, who will be supervised by the consultant.

The post-holder with other senior members of the CAMHS Teams will be responsible for ensuring there is effective communication with referring and receiving teams throughout the Trust, and Primary care. Where appropriate the post-holder will join therapy sessions in complex cases. Whilst primarily responsible for delivering a quality clinical service the Consultant psychiatrist is also expected to be actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services, being involved with the service manager in helping to steer the development of the service in line with the strategic direction of the organisation.

The successful candidate will develop a personal development plan for lifelong learning . We also offer new appointees the chance to extend their development, If you would like to undertake a further qualification, undertake research or involve yourself in our transformation program.
