Path Links invites applications for a full time substantive Consultant Cellular Pathologist based at Lincoln County Hospital.
Path Links is a single managed NHS clinical pathology network operating across Lincolnshire. It was formed in 2001 from the amalgamation of NHS pathology services in Boston, Grantham, Grimsby, Lincoln and Scunthorpe, The Cellular Pathology Department is a well-established centralised service located in Lincoln and has a team of seventeen consultants. The laboratory is well equipped to provide the diagnostic tests required for reporting including Digital Microscopy to provide greater diagnostic versatility.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems, and library services.

The directorate provides diagnostic services for the specialities of Breast, Dermatology, Urology, Gynae, Gastrointestinal and Head and Neck. We are keen to appoint a colleague with a broader range of interests with the ability to cross cover areas particularly Breast, Dermatopathology and Gynae. There is a daily multi-headed microscope session to review difficult / interesting cases. Workload would be tailored to experience. Multidisciplinary team meetings are supported on five hospital sites, the majority are attended via videoconference links. The new appointee may wish to choose a mentor from our supportive team of colleagues, particularly if this is their first consultant post. Autopsy services are conducted at Lincoln. Participation in the autopsy rota (mainly Coronial, on a time shift basis) is welcomed but not essential.
