Job description
Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality, consultant‑led Haematology services for both inpatients and outpatients across North Northamptonshire and neighbouring regions.

  • Provide expert care across general and malignant Haematology, including Haemato‑oncology, coagulation, and transfusion services.
  • Participate in the 1:4 consultant on‑call rota, with appropriate middle‑grade support.
  • Lead and contribute to outpatient clinics, ward rounds, bone marrow lists, and the Haematology MDT.
  • Offer clinical advice and interpretation of Haematology investigations to medical colleagues across the Trust and in primary care.
  • Take an active role in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with opportunities for involvement in research and clinical trials.
  • Participate in service development, bringing forward ideas for innovation and pathway improvement.
Qualifications

A passionate and collaborative clinician with excellent diagnostic, laboratory, and patient management skills. You will be GMC registered (or within 6 months of CCT), confident working in an MDT environment, and eager to contribute to service development, clinical governance, and education.
