Following the continued success of Tetra Tech (Europe) in securing a variety of new and interesting groundwater and geothermal projects in the defence, education and government services sectors, we have an exciting opportunity for a hydr ogeologist or geothermal Consultant to join Tetra Tech.
We are looking for a Hydrogeologist or Geothermal Consultant to join our UK team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to make a difference, promote the use and protection of groundwater and geothermal and help us tackle one of the biggest challenges of our times. The role is intended to support our business aim of tackling climate change and decarbonise the UK and Irish heat sector. You will also have the opportunity to work on international projects. You will join an established and growing national team of geothermal and groundwater specialists and be part of Tetra Tech's500 strong national environmental and green energy business.
We carry out techno-economic groundwater resource assessments and geothermal feasibilities, geothermal resource and thermal energy evaluations, intrusive and non-intrusive geothermal investigations, testing and reservoir modelling and assessment across both shallow (<500m) and deep systems (>500m) to help inform business cases and investment opportunities.
Our team has project management experience across the design, construction and testing of exploratory and production wells, injection well drilling and testing, plant and pipework construction and commissioning.
We have a broad range of private and public sector clients across the built environment, energy, health, education, defence and infrastructure sectors. Your main duties and responsibilities will be to support our geothermal specialists, hydrogeologists and green energy engineers with the:

As part of this role, you will be involved with and oversee the production of desk study assessments, the accurate collection of site data (including hydrogeological, geophysical and thermal response testing) and the production of detailed factual and interpretative reports which are supported by numerical modelling. You will lead on the design of geothermal systems and support the geothermal and groundwater team.

You will work alongside other geothermal, hydrogeological, green energy and engineering specialists and help deliver holistic solutions that meet our clients’ needs. Additionally, you will be expected to collaborate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams in other offices.
As a minimum you will hold a master’s degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, geothermal energy or relevant discipline. Whilst not essential, it would be desirable for you to have a post graduate qualification such as a Doctorate degree (PhD). You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as The Geological Society. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
