Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting locum Consultant Gastroenterologists across the UK to deliver high-quality GI care within NHS trusts. The role requires CCT or equivalent, Full GMC registration, and the ability to work across inpatient and outpatient settings with MDTs.

Locations include Greater London, Midlands, North West & North East England, South East & South West, and Scotland, with flexible long- or short-term placements and dedicated support from a recruitment consultant.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Relevant NHS experience at Consultant level, or references to support transition to Consultant.
• Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available for agency locum work).
• A current DBS check or PVG check, or willingness to undergo one as part of registration.
• Strong communication and teamworking skills.

About the Role

As a locum Consultant in Gastroenterology, you'll play a key role in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care. Responsibilities may include:

• Managing inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services
• Supporting junior doctors and MDTs
• Contributing to service development and audits

What We're Looking For

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Relevant NHS experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level
• Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for agency locum work)
