A healthcare provider in Essex is seeking a full-time community forensic psychiatrist to join its Specialist Community Forensic Team in Billericay. The role involves independent work within a multi-disciplinary team, performing assessments for services and managing a caseload of patients. Candidates must hold GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or nearing completion of their Forensic Psychiatry CCT. This post will cover the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) and is based full time at 2 Heath Close in Billericay. The post holder will provide cover for SCFT which covers the population across Southend-on-Sea in Essex and Thurrock. In addition to community work, the post involves assessments and liaison at the request of the general adult services, the Criminal Justice Service or assessments as a forensic gatekeeper for the East of England Specialist Commissioners. The community team holds a caseload of approximately 70 patients and has a throughput of around 5-10 discharges on to the local Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT's) in any one year and the job is likely to include a similar number of gatekeeping assessments to be done by the post holder with some sensible flexibility. The post-holder is required to work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health services. Working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year.
You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with Forensic Psychiatry CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
