Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Consultant Ecologist near Kent to join a busy environmental consultancy. You will undertake protected species, botanical and habitat surveys, deliver PEAs, EcIAs and ecological reports, and support licensing and mitigation.

The role offers hybrid working, 28 days leave, flexible hours, and professional development. Requirements include 2+ years of ecological consultancy, a relevant ecology degree, UK driving licence, and membership of CIEEM.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ecological consultancy experience.
• Relevant ecology/environmental degree.
• Protected species licence(s) and progress towards others.
• Experience with UKHab, BNG and ecological reporting.
• QGIS or ArcGIS experience.
• CIEEM membership.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Living in or within a commutable distance of the Kent office.

Responsibilities

• Undertake protected species, botanical and habitat surveys.
• Complete PEAs, EcIAs and professional ecological reports.
• Deliver BNG assessments, habitat mapping and enhancement strategies.
• Support protected species licence applications and mitigation.
• Manage projects and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior ecologists.
