Overview

Consultant Ecologist — £Competitive plus company car or car allowance

East England

Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a highly regarded organisation, providing a wide range of environmental services to clients across the UK.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Ecologist to join the established and experienced team.

The successful candidate will help deliver ecology consultancy services to existing and new projects, providing ecology support to pollution emergency response.

You'll need to hold a degree in a biological or environmental sciences discipline, with experience of working within an ecological consultancy. You'll have a solid understanding of the principals and practice of key ecological field surveys and wildlife legislation. With strong IT skills, you'll be skilled in delivering high quality communications and possess excellent analytical and numeric skills.

Willing to learn new skills, you'll hold or be working towards a professional accreditation and protected species licences.

You will need to be flexible in terms of travelling and working hours depending on project locations and be prepared to work in inclement weather conditions and outside of normal social working hours. You will require a full, clean UK driving licence for this role.

Knowledge of aquatic environment legislation and its implementation, particularly the Water Framework Directive would be advantageous.
