Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust in Salford hosts a substantive Consultant Dermatologist role. The post covers general dermatology, cancer and paediatric clinics with surgical procedures across Radcliffe and Salford Dermatology services, and may include outreach to other sites.

The successful candidate will participate in MDT discussions, clinical audit, teaching, and research while contributing to the overall patient care strategy of the Trust.

Qualifications

  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview.
  • Full GMC registration is required.
  • Completion of CCT/higher specialist training or equivalent in Dermatology.
  • Recognition as a Clinical Supervisor per GMC Trainer Standards.
  • Participation in management training.
  • Participation in an advanced IT training course.
  • Higher Degree.
  • Educational Supervisor recognition per GMC Trainer Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general dermatology, cancer and paediatric clinics and surgical procedures across Radcliffe and Salford Dermatology services.
  • Undertake ward rounds and contribute to MDT discussions.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research projects.
  • Involve in teaching and supervision of trainees and students.

Consultant Dermatologist

The Dermatology Department are actively seeking a qualified consultant within the area or for those who are looking to relocate and commence employment as a substantive Consultant Dermatologist within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA).

  • The successful candidate will above all be able to be a productive and cohesive member of the Dermatology team.
  • Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
  • Contributing to undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical and multi professional education activity including teaching as necessary.
  • Participation in clinical audit and research.
  • Conducting appropriate duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Multidisciplinary teamwork is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
  • Development of special interests that fit in with the Directorate needs and the strategic direction of the Trust.
  • Undertaking ward rounds as appropriate.

(Primarily based at Salford, Radcliffe and Bury Dermatology services with possibility of some activity at other sites.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide general dermatology, cancer and paediatric clinics and surgical procedure across our Radcliffe and Salford Dermatology services. Management of the existing workload may change during this appointment and this will be reflected within the job plan as necessary.

All Consultants affiliated to the centre have admitting rights for elective and non - elective cases where patients remain under their care during the admission.

Professional Registration & Qualifications

  • Current Advanced Life Support Certification
