Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting locum Consultant Psychiatrists for UK-wide opportunities across Wales and other regions. You will work with MDTs, focusing on patient flow, discharge planning, and liaison with wards and community services.

Requirements include MBBS or equivalent, full GMC registration, Section 12/22, DBS/PVG clearance, UK Right to Work, and CCT in Psychiatry. Flexible schedules and NHS framework support.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and full GMC registration.
• Section 12/Section 22 and Approved/Responsible Clinician status (or eligibility).
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check required.
• CCT in Psychiatry and experience in adult mental health settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and reviews for adults with complex needs.
• Lead treatment planning and clinical decision-making within MDTs.
• Support junior medical staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Liaise with community services and external partners to ensure care continuity.

Community Psychiatry Consultant - Inpatient / Community : Community with ward in-reach eg MDT Crisis Team WILL NEED SECTION 12 AND WELSH AC Job Plan : 9-5 M-F. 10 sessions. 1 Admin, 9 DCC. Mix of patient reviews, MDT, ward in-reach, crisis team and home treatment team input. Focus is on patient flow so there will be emphasis on supporting early discharge and liaising with the ward around this, as well as on admission prevention.

About the Role

As a locum Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll work within multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs. Your responsibilities may include:

• Conducting psychiatric assessments and reviews
• Leading treatment planning and clinical decision-making

What We're Looking For

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Section 12/Section 22 and Approved/Responsible Clinician status (or eligibility)
• A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
• Experience in adult mental health settings
• UK Right to Work
