Job description

Prescient is a specialist global consultancy focused exclusively on the biopharmaceutical industry. Following the recent acquisitions of Uptake and Dolon, Prescient now operates across four core practices: Commercial, Medical, Competitive Strategy, and Value, Pricing & Access. Together, we deliver best-in-class intelligence, evidence, and strategic consulting to leading biopharma organisations worldwide.

Our work supports clients across the full product lifecycle, from early pipeline through post-launch, delivering timely insights and strategic recommendations that enable informed decision‑making across commercial, medical, competitive intelligence, evidence generation and market access functions.

Science, strategy, and technology underpin our business, but it’s driven by deep, collaborative relationships. As true thought partners, we work alongside clients to navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape, helping them unlock the full potential of their brands, portfolios, and innovations to improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Within our Medical practice, we are increasingly focused on delivering integrated solutions across medical strategy and planning, evidence generation strategy, and organisational excellence, enabling clients to strengthen medical impact, accelerate decision‑making and build future‑ready medical organisations.

About our Medical Strategy Practice

Our consultancy services are built on deep scientific and medical expertise. It’s a uniquely science‑first mentality, in lockstep with our clients' values. We explore the needs and motivations of the medical community and turn that information into powerful insights that inform our clients’ strategies, with the ultimate goal of shaping the future of healthcare and improving patient outcomes.

As our Medical Strategy practice continues to evolve, we are increasingly focused on delivering integrated solutions across three core pillars: Medical Strategy & Planning (60%), Evidence Generation Strategy (20%), and Organisational Excellence (20%). This creates a unique opportunity for consultants who enjoy working across both strategic and operational dimensions of the biopharma landscape, helping clients shape medical vision, optimise evidence generation, and build high‑performing medical organisations.

Our approach integrates rigorous scientific analysis, market understanding, evidence planning, and collaborative problem‑solving. We challenge the status quo, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to unlock new opportunities and innovation through strategic thinking, organisational effectiveness, and data‑driven decision‑making.

What role will I play on projects?
  • As a Consultant, you will play a key role supporting highly complex projects across a range of healthcare and therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, CVMD or rare disease projects.
  • This role spans a diverse portfolio of engagements, supporting clients from early development through commercialisation.
  • You will support clients in addressing critical business challenges, including medical planning, integrated evidence generation, launch readiness, field medical optimisation, operating model design, and cross‑functional strategic alignment. Combining therapeutic, clinical, operational, and commercial perspectives, you will support your team in guiding clients toward impactful and actionable outcomes.
  • You will take part in successful advisory engagements, building lasting client relationships and contributing to driving revenue growth. With a primary client base in the U.S., a keen understanding of evolving biopharma trends in these markets is essential, along with a global perspective on drug development, evidence generation and commercialisation.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

As a Consultant, your time will be divided as follows:

  • Conducting and supporting write‑up and presentation of secondary research on clinical, commercial and market topics
  • Conducting and supporting write‑up and presentation of primary research with KOLs and biopharmaceutical market experts
  • Brainstorming with your team and executing value‑adding analyses to support client solutions
  • Supporting business development activities, such as providing information to create client proposals, presentations, or other communications
  • Being a role model for the junior team and supporting the development of the junior members of the team
  • Supporting internal team activities with relevant impact (thought leadership, internal training, etc.)
  • Supporting the local leadership team in building the local culture and teambuilding activities
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
  • One or more of the following degrees: a relevant degree in science or a biotechnology‑related field is a must; PhD, MD, MBA, and/or MSc are valued
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience within a corporate / business or consulting environment, which may include pharma consulting, pharma business intelligence, pharma data analytics, etc. Experience working in oncology, immunology, or biosimilars is preferred
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to conduct primary market research and analyse secondary data sources
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
What we offer
  • A competitive package and remuneration linked to performance
  • An opportunity to support pharmaceutical and biotech client accounts to help them develop their portfolios, assets and brand strategies
  • A high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment where you can support significant client and business value and forge your own path
  • A platform for accelerated professional development and career growth with the opportunity to build your levels of responsibility and accountability
  • An opportunity to be a part of and work with extraordinary teams that are driven by personal learning and client impact
