A leading healthcare provider in Newport is seeking an experienced histopathologist to join their team in modernising pathology services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the histopathology backlog and contribute to the All-Wales Digital Pathology Programme. They will be equipped with a new office, advanced equipment, and a supportive work environment that values work-life balance. We are an NHS award‑winning department playing a leading role in the modernisation of pathology services in SE Wales in line with the Health Board's Clinical Futures strategy and the Welsh Government "Future Delivery of Pathology Services in Wales" document. We provide all services in house with no outsourcing to external providers. We are heavily involved in the design and creation of the All-Wales Digital Pathology Programme, utilise AI algorithms for the diagnosis of several specimen types and hope to implement its use in the reporting of HER2 and associated ISH. The successful candidate will benefit from a new office, bespoke new microscope, IT packages including laptop, digital equipment and secretarial support. We have a fully supportive laboratory providing a wide range of immunos and are willing to look into expanding the repertoire and technologies and clinical needs change.
