Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Specialist Community Team East, based at Wokingham Hospital and covering Bracknell locality. External candidates may attract a recruitment premium of £15,000 and relocation support of £8,000.

The post offers CPD time, MDT collaboration, and teaching opportunities in a supportive environment. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver timely, evidence-based care for children

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GMC and included on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months)
• Approved Clinician status or eligible within 3 months
• Experience with children and young people with complex needs and multi-agency working

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people up to 18 within the Bracknell locality
• Hold a caseload and deliver 2-3 clinical contacts per direct clinical session
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to formulation, holistic care planning and multi-agency decision-making
• Offer consultation and clinical advice to colleagues across the service
• Engage with families, schools, social care and partner agencies to coordinate care
• Participate in service improvement, clinical audit, CPD and teaching
