Job summary

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with subspecialty in breast imaging to lead formal reporting of mammograms, breast MRI and tomosynthesis, and to perform breast ultrasound including complex interventional procedures.

Qualifications

• Breast imaging expertise and subspecialty knowledge.
• Experience in mammogram reporting and breast MRI interpretation.
• A track record with tomosynthesis and ultrasound-guided breast procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead formal reporting of mammograms, breast MRI and tomosynthesis.
• Perform breast ultrasound examinations including complex interventional procedures.
• Undertake image-guided interventional procedures such as biopsy, seed localisation and wire localisation.
• Contribute opinions on general radiology and cross-sectional imaging in MDT meetings.

Job description

This is a full time position providing Consultant level expertise in all aspects of breast imaging including the formal reporting of Mammograms, Breast MR and Tomosynthesis studies and performing Breast ultrasound examinations (including complex interventional procedures).

Key responsibilities include undertaking image guided interventional procedures such as ultrasound and stereotactic guided core biopsy/seed localisations, vacuum assisted biopsy, pre-operative wire localisation, ultrasound guided drainage and fine needle aspiration.

Additionally, the candidate should also be skilled at providing opinion on general radiology and cross-sectional imaging reports for treatment and management planning in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
