Main duties of the job

Our Trust delivers a full range of emergency/secondary health care services including intensive and high dependency care.

As a senior employee of the Trust the post‑holder will work in close co‑operation with, and support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.

Responsibilities

• Delivering first‑class clinical care to our patients, with opportunities to work in both Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.
• Leading and teaching – from guiding junior doctors to supporting medical students through Hull York Medical School (HYMS), where you could be appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer.
• Bringing your expertise to a varied and rewarding caseload in a non‑hierarchical, team‑focused environment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration, with a Licence to Practice.
• Undertaken programme of training acceptable to the Royal College of Anaesthetics for appointment to Consultant Status.
• All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.
• Entry on the Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview), CESR or European Community Rights.
• ALS Provider certificate or equivalent.

Experience

• Experience of working independently covering Trauma lists.
• Experience of covering Critical Care.
• 14 years or more experience at SAS level.
• Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit.
• Evidence of involvement in Clinical Research.
• Evidence of a special interest.
