We are recruiting for a Consultant to join the team to work on projects across the whole portfolio. As a Consultant, you will contribute to the successful management and delivery of MEL projects, providing technical inputs across multiple projects and project managing smaller projects. You will also contribute to business development activities and bid writing; and, where possible, share learning through knowledge products and external conferences and events, being a part of maintaining our excellent reputation with our clients. The core technical strengths of all our consultants are focused around four key areas:
We are looking for a candidate with experience in providing technical inputs into evaluation and/or MEL projects, together with demonstrable project management experience, which is essential for this role. You will have experience managing projects, delivering high-quality work to agreed timelines and budgets, and applying strong commercial project management skills. You will bring relevant thematic expertise in one or more of the thematic areas outlined above. You will have experience applying a range of evaluation and MEL tools and techniques in a structured and systematic way to produce robust, evidence-based findings. You will also be skilled in building trust-based relationships with clients and contributing to business development, including the development of high-quality, winning proposals. Experience working in the foundations/philanthropic sector and/or the UK domestic market would be desirable, particularly on evaluation or MEL assignments for organisations such as the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice, Home Office or the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)., We are not able to support a work permit for this role so candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK independently.
We are a global consultancy providing evidence, learning and strategy services to help solve complex challenges. We aim to build a more equitable, sustainable, and secure world by helping organisations use evidence to learn and take action. In fast-moving, complex environments, we create space to reflect, make sense of change, and enable informed decisions. Through evidence, insight, and learning, we unlock strategies for better performance and lasting change.
By joining our Fragile and Conflict Affected Settings (FCAS) team, you will be working alongside a dynamic group of people who are driven by a commitment to improve the lives of people living in some of the harshest conditions in the world. The challenges of working in FCAS means that we need to be innovative and creative, and our team is recognised as a global leader in providing monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) advice and services to a diverse range of clients working in conflict and crisis contexts across the world. Our expertise encompasses a broad range of thematic areas including security and justice; serious and organised crime; violence against women and girls (VAWG); preventing violent extremism; migration; and humanitarian assistance. We work globally with a particular focus on East Africa, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), South Asia and the Indo-Pacific. Increasingly, we are also working on some of these themes in the UK.
