Job description

Gate One is a business and digital transformation consultancy working shoulder-to-shoulder with clients to design and deliver some of the most complex and meaningful change programmes in the market.

As a premium challenger consultancy - entrepreneurial, creative and values-driven - and part of the Havas network, Gate One combines strategic clarity, transformation expertise and creative capability to help organisations deliver lasting impact.

Our work spans areas including operating model design, digital and technology transformation, people-centred change, customer and employee experience, strategy and leadership, enterprise agility and AI-enabled transformation.

As our growth continues, we are looking to appoint Consultants who can bring strong foundations in management consulting, take ownership of defined areas of client work and continue developing into broad, versatile transformation consultants.

The opportunity

As a Consultant at Gate One, you will work as part of high-performing teams tackling complex client challenges while continuing to build your consulting toolkit and broaden your experience across sectors and transformation capabilities.

You will take ownership of discrete areas of client work, build trusted relationships and increasingly help shape how problems are solved, rather than simply executing tasks defined by others.

Alongside client delivery, you will contribute to the growth, culture and development of Gate One itself, with opportunities to support the development of the business and get involved in the wider life of the firm.

You will

  • Take ownership of defined workstreams and deliver high-quality analysis, recommendations and client-facing outputs.
  • Structure problems, develop practical solutions and contribute to broader transformation programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with client and Gate One teams, taking increasing responsibility for your own delivery.
  • Build trusted client relationships through the quality of your work, communication and judgement.
  • Develop your experience across different sectors, clients and transformation challenges.

Develop your consulting capability

  • Continue building a strong consulting toolkit across problem solving, analysis, communication, stakeholder management and delivery.
  • Seek feedback and take ownership of your development, supported by experienced colleagues, coaching and learning opportunities.
  • Build knowledge across Gate One's transformation capabilities and develop areas of particular interest or expertise.

Help build Gate One

  • Contribute to sectors, capabilities and internal initiatives that interest you.
  • Support proposals, propositions and client development activity, working alongside more experienced colleagues.
  • Share knowledge and help develop reusable content, approaches and ideas.
  • Get involved in the wider life of the firm, from recruitment and learning to community and cultural initiatives.

About you

You must bring around three years' experience gained within an established management consulting firm. This is an important indicator of the consulting depth required to operate effectively at Consultant level and is a core requirement for the role.

You will have a track record of contributing to the successful delivery of client projects, defined workstreams or larger transformation programmes.

You will also bring:

  • Experience contributing to, or increasingly taking ownership of, defined workstreams within consulting engagements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring structure to complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Experience producing high-quality client-facing outputs and recommendations.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and building effective client relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and an appetite to build experience across different sectors and transformation capabilities.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to take increasing ownership for your work.
  • A genuine desire to contribute beyond client delivery and help build a global and growing consultancy.

Inclusion & accessibility

Gate One is committed to an inclusive hiring process. All applications will be given fair consideration regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, age, faith, or social background. We welcome individuals from all educational backgrounds to apply. Right to work: Candidates must hold the legal right to work in the UK and meet the experience requirements outlined above.
