Job summary

The International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP) is seeking an experienced Construction Underwriter to join our Rayleigh team in a hybrid role with three days in the office. You will underwrite risks, manage renewals, and liaise with brokers to ensure competitive, compliant coverage.

We seek candidates with Cert CII preferred, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial judgment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the legal and regulatory insurance landscape.
• Excellent communication and broker relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Liability and CAR renewals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and administer risks across new business, renewals and midterm adjustments within Delegated Underwriting Authority.
• Produce accurate, compliant documentation across all underwriting stages.
• Demonstrate proactive follow‑up on risks and maintain high technical standards.
• Develop and enhance underwriting skills and product knowledge.
• Deliver high-quality underwriting in line with Quality Control framework.
• Trade confidently to meet productivity goals.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Contribute to business development, growth and change initiatives.
• Ensure activities meet Group standards and regulatory requirements.
