Construction Tutor (Multi-Skills)

Location: Manchester or Stalybridge

Salary: £28,000–£32,000 (depending on qualifications)

Contract: Full-time, term-time plus 5 days

Start Date: ASAP (urgent backfill)

Role Overview

We are looking for a practical, hands‑on Construction Tutor to deliver Level 1–2 multi‑skills qualifications to small groups of learners aged 14–19 at Strive’s specialist training centres. Most learners have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so the role requires a calm, supportive approach and a commitment to creating a nurturing, alternative learning environment.

You will teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom‑based theory, supporting learners to develop skills in brickwork, woodwork, and general building tasks. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact on young people who thrive in vocational, relationship‑based settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, practical construction lessons in line with qualification and awarding body standards.
  • Create a safe, supportive workshop environment that nurtures students’ social and emotional development.
  • Plan lessons, assess learner progress, and keep accurate records.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and work closely with the Lead Construction Tutor.
