Location: Birmingham (On-Site)
Salary: £51,000
Type of Contract: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

The role: We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our HND Construction Management programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends.

What you’ll be doing: As a Lecturer in Construction Management at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules related to the principles and practices of construction management, including the legal, environmental and technological context of today’s construction industry. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students, and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
  • Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
  • Understand and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices
  • Work towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression
Qualifications
  • Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
  • Have previous UK HE teaching experience in the wider subject area
  • Show extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter
  • Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
  • Have experience of accurate reporting and maintain thorough and organised student records
  • Be able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills
  • Be able to work with diverse groups of people
Desirable
  • Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or intend to enrol on a teaching programme during probation and complete within three years)
  • Have experience of design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
