Site Manager – Construction (M&E Bias) – Stansted

Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

Start: TBC

Rate/Package: Competitive – dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) background to oversee and coordinate construction activities on a live project near Stansted.

This role requires a technically capable, commercially aware, and safety-driven individual who can manage multidisciplinary packages, coordinate specialist subcontractors, and ensure the successful delivery of M&E works alongside civils and build activities.

You will play a key role in ensuring installation quality, compliance, programme adherence, and effective coordination between trades, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of site operations with a focus on M&E coordination
• Overseeing and managing M&E subcontractors and specialist contractors
• Ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits, and Health & Safety legislation
• Coordinating interfaces between M&E, civils, and build packages
• Monitoring installation quality, testing, and commissioning activities
• Managing site logistics, sequencing, and programme delivery
• Chairing and attending coordination meetings with engineers, designers, and clients
• Reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and technical submissions
• Ensuring compliance with building regulations, standards, and client specifications
• Maintaining site records, QA documentation, and progress reports
• Supporting snagging, testing, and handover processes

Experience & Qualifications Required

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction projects with a strong M&E focus
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including:
  • Lighting and controls
  • Data and communications
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience working in live, regulated, or critical environments is advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and work under programme pressure
