The Role

As Project Manager, you will be delivering major projects on time and in budget, that tackle significant challenges, such as reducing the use of storm overflows and strengthening water resilience. Projects range in value from £500k to £40m – and duration from 3 months to 3+ years.

Responsibilities
  • Establish preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions
  • Work closely with the Project Planner to produce detailed programmes of work
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ Legislation and CDM regulations
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure expectations and deliverables are met
  • Ensure contract processes and procedures are followed (typically NEC4)
  • Assist with the preparation of tender quotations, project prices and compensation event estimates.
  • Co‑ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub‑contractors, in‑house functions, site installations and construction teams
  • Take ownership of all temporary works
  • Conduct regular site visits
  • Ensure contract documentation is compliant with client specifications and timescales.
Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role, in a utilities environment (preferably clean water) is essential.

Experience of either, deep excavation, pipeline or infiltration projects would be highly advantageous.

A thorough understanding of the requirements and implementation of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.

Proficient knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Environmental issues that are pertinent to the project environment, guaranteeing the highest standards of project execution and sustainability.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Project / P6 / Microsoft Office.

An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline is highly desirable.
