A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Planner for a full-time role. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning high-value, complex projects from initial tender to completion. Perm/Full Time Competitive Salary, Travel Allowance + Flexible Benefits We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our West Midlands part of the Engineering business to work on exciting projects coming through the pipeline.

The main purpose of the role is to plan allocated high-value and complex projects, producing workable, realistic and efficient programmes of work that meet appropriate standards. Plans will be implemented with a best‑practice approach utilising Critical Path Analysis, Resource Planning, Cost Management and Progress/Productivity Monitoring and Control.
Arrange and facilitate internal integrated planning meetings with relevant project stakeholders to agree the team's input into the project plan and work closely with the team and our external customer.
Produce and agree a 'Contract Baseline' programme for each allocated project that aligns with the agreed formal contract, price and workscope, thereby reducing risk for NG Bailey.
Collaborate with the Planning Manager to ensure that planning outputs and reports are produced in a timely manner for all contract reviews.
Support operational teams to determine whether project targets are being achieved and jointly establish and agree corrective measures where necessary.
Take responsibility for all allocated projects, ensuring progress and productivity are monitored against the project plan, and circulate clear reports to the appropriate stakeholders in a concise and timely manner (e.g., Resource Histograms, 'S' Curves, Earned Value Analysis).
Maintain and update the contract baseline in line with agreed contract changes (e.g., variations), and ensure change impacts are effectively communicated to Operations and Commercial teams.
When variations are included, integrate them into project plans in consultation with the Planning Manager.
Perform Time/Risk analysis against programmes at regular intervals with the Project Manager throughout the entire project life cycle.
Ensure all planning-related activities comply with contractual obligations, internal processes, and external legislation governing business operations.
Considerable experience in a planning role on medium to large MEP / Industrial Building Services projects.
Ability to create and own the programming from initial tender through to completion, including commissioning.
