Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Construction Manager -Line‑side Civils to join our dynamic Transpire team in Manchester. On‑site working role, 37.5 hrs per week. (Requirement to work some weekends and nights)

What You’ll Do:
  • Plan the project activities, including defining methodology for complete execution, considering timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Develop a detailed schedule, outlining when each task should occur.
  • Identify and manage potential risks that could affect project execution.
  • Submit accurate site records to enable effective monitoring of programme and cost plans.
  • Prepare, develop, and maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure that toolbox talks, task briefs, permits and COSS briefs are carried out for all work tasks prior to commencement of work.
  • Order and receipt of site deliverables, with timely returns of goods receipts notices.
  • Monitor and supervise sub‑contractors, contract staff and direct labour for allocated site activities.
  • Experience of railway construction management for specific discipline – Lineside civils and proven experience in leading teams for successful delivery.
Qualifications:
  • SMSTS – Supervisory Management training / qualification with significant practical experience.
  • PTS.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with site staff and project team.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Must be able to drive.
