A unique opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to join this prestigious Grade II listed building conversion project. Working alongside the Senior Construction Manager you’ll play a vital role in transforming this historic property into high‑end student accommodation.

Essential Experience Required
  • Proven experience in residential / apartment developments
  • Previous work on Grade II listed building projects
  • Understanding of heritage conservation requirements
  • Strong background in student accommodation projects (desirable)
Project Planning and Coordination
  • Monitoring programmes including timelines, milestones and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers and the client team to ensure project requirements are met
  • Support heritage specialists and conservation officers
  • Ensure compliance with listed building regulations
Commercial Management
  • Working closely with the project quantity surveyor
  • Being aware of commercial constraints throughout the project lifecycle but not letting it compromise quality and safety
  • Assist in managing specialist heritage contractors
  • Monitor costs related to conservation requirements
Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead and motivate the team including supply chain
  • Chair meetings as necessary ensuring concise minutes are recorded
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to team members to ensure project objectives are met
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment conducive to productivity and safety
  • Champion the ethos on best use of tech products available
  • Support the Senior Construction Manager in daily operations
Quality Control and Compliance
  • Familiarity with design management principles and tools for coordinating the design process collaborating with architects and engineers and ensuring design intent is achieved
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets regulatory standards and client expectations
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues promptly
  • Working with our HSE Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Maintain strict adherence to heritage conservation guidelines
Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions
  • Proactively address any issues that may arise during the construction process
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities and decisions
  • Special focus on protecting listed building elements
Reporting
  • Aid with upstream reports. Leading on certain projects aiding on others. To be agreed with line manager
  • Ensure that the internal team are aware of site progress issues / requirements
  • Document all conservation related activities and decisions

Yearly Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
