Job Title: Construction (Entry Level) Tutor
Pay And Working Hours
  • Per hour: £25-35,000
  • Working hours: 37.5 per week
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver hands‑on, engaging Construction sessions that help young people explore creative techniques, build portfolios, and develop skills that matter
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learners at different levels of confidence and ability
  • Collaborate with your team on scheme of work and lesson planning
  • Encourage attendance, routine, and personal accountability in learners
  • Support the development of learners functional skills in Maths and English as part of their wider learning journey
  • Keep accurate records of progress, behaviour, and engagement
  • Use a trauma-informed, relational approach to behaviour management, helping learners feel safe, respected and understood
  • Reflect on your own practice and contribute to team development and training
  • Work alongside support services, parents/carers and external agencies where relevant to promote learner success
What Were Looking For
  • Ideally aLevel 3 Award in Education & Trainingand preferably a Certificate of Higher Education, but training can be provided to the right candidate without these qualifications.
  • Experience in education, including Scheme of Work and Lesson Plan development.
  • Strong conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to inspire and motivate young people.
  • Empathy and understanding for young people, with alignment to New Meaning Trainings values.
  • A passion for helping learners achieve their goals through adaptability and initiative in tailoring learning styles and activities.
  • An understanding of or willingness to learn about current social issues (e.g., County Lines, the impact of COVID on mental health).
