Job summary

QC Legal is seeking an established Construction & Engineering Partner to lead the firm’s infrastructure practice in London. The role focuses on advising developers, contractors, funders and public sector bodies on high-value projects across the UK and internationally.

You will draft and negotiate complex construction documentation, manage multi-disciplinary mandates and mentor a senior team while developing the client base and market presence in the infrastructure sector.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on high-value, non-contentious construction and engineering matters within the infrastructure sector.
  • Advise clients on procurement, delivery and financing of major infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Draft and negotiate EPC contracts, construction contracts, consultant appointments and ancillary project agreements.
  • Support complex development programmes spanning transport, energy, utilities and wider infrastructure assets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Projects, Real Estate, Planning and Finance on multi-disciplinary mandates.
  • Strengthen relationships with an established client base and identify new opportunities in infrastructure.
  • Provide strategic leadership to an experienced team and drive technical excellence and growth.

From transport and energy projects to utilities and major regeneration programmes, the London team works alongside specialists across Real Estate, Planning, Projects and Finance to provide strategic advice from project inception through to delivery and operation.

The Opportunity
  • Take the lead on high-value, non-contentious construction and engineering matters within the infrastructure sector.
  • Advise clients on the procurement, delivery and financing of major infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Draft and negotiate a broad range of construction documentation, including EPC contracts, construction contracts, consultant appointments and ancillary project agreements.
  • Support complex development programmes spanning transport, energy, utilities and wider infrastructure assets.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Projects, Real Estate, Planning and Finance on multi-disciplinary client mandates.
  • Strengthen relationships with an established client base while identifying new opportunities across the infrastructure market.
  • Provide strategic leadership to an experienced team, encouraging technical excellence and continued professional development.
  • Play an influential role in the continued growth of the firm's Construction & Engineering practice.
The Ideal Candidate
  • An established Construction & Engineering Partner with significant experience advising on infrastructure projects.
  • A strong track record acting for developers, contractors, funders, investors or public sector organisations.
  • Extensive expertise drafting and negotiating complex construction documentation for major development and infrastructure schemes.
  • A recognised profile within the infrastructure sector, supported by strong business development credentials.
  • Excellent commercial judgement with the ability to lead sophisticated negotiations and deliver practical legal solutions.
