Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with Control of Electrical Works E01 and The Electricity at Work Regulations 198.9.
- Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out and that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded when received and that they are the latest version.
- Work with design teams in the production of design and construction drawings/documentation.
- Inspect and record incoming materials and their documentation where required by the ITR’s.
- Assist in planning and contribute to the collaborative planning board.
- Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions from the Project Manager.
- Record the progress of works on record drawings or other suitable means when required.
- Liaise between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers.
- Prepare and apply Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits and other Health and Safety Documentation.
- Prepare scope documents and tender packages for additional works.
- Develop containment routes and plans with subcontractors and agree to the same.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, compose take‑offs and agree on variation works, including feeding back information to QS’s on works completed and pay less notices.
- Manage site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work is conducted in line with design documentation and in accordance with contract programme.
- Complete quality checks to ensure works are in line with design outputs and ready for commissioning works.
- Prepare commissioning documentation and supervise the commissioning process.
- Coordinate project close‑out stages including snag lists and handover to the end user.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in the Water & Wastewater sector.
- Previous experience within an electrical supervisor role writing electrical permits to work and controlling electrical health and safety on site.
- Experience working with LV electrical switchgear and motor control centres.
- Experience in electrical installations, cabling and building services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in control systems, motor control and telemetry.
- Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills.
- Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience in instrumentation associated with Water & Wastewater sector is desirable but not a requirement.
- A working knowledge of PLC’s is also desirable, but not a requirement.
- Full Clean driving licence.
