Level 3 qualification in construction

Job description

Please note we don't have a fixed closing date but instead will close the role when we have sufficient applicants to interview so apply soon to not miss out!

The Role

Bring your construction experience into education and help develop the workforce of the future.

Are you an experienced construction professional who enjoys sharing practical knowledge and helping others succeed? This is an opportunity to use your trade expertise in a rewarding education environment, supporting apprentices as they develop the skills, confidence and safe working practices needed for their future careers.

Working alongside lecturers, skills coaches and the wider apprenticeship team, you will help prepare and maintain workshops, equipment and practical resources. You will also provide hands‑on technical guidance to apprentices across programmes including carpentry, property maintenance, bricklaying and plumbing.

This is more than a workshop support role. You will demonstrate materials, techniques and processes, support practical projects and assessments, and help create engaging learning experiences in which apprentices can produce work to a high standard and work safely.

Skills and Experience

You will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant construction discipline and have practical, on‑site experience in your trade. You will also bring experience from a relevant industry or education setting, together with a broad working knowledge of construction or engineering topics.

You will be organised and methodical, able to prepare resources in advance of practical sessions and confident working safely within established procedures and risk assessments. Strong communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of people are essential.

Experience of developing a positive rapport with students, contributing to risk assessments, first‑aid duties, and using online ordering or stock‑control systems would be advantageous. You should also be willing to undertake training and maintain your professional knowledge through regular trade‑related development.

The Group has also recently established the Elevare Education Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and families across the region through targeted programmes and practical support. This reflects our wider civic mission and commitment to making a meaningful difference beyond our campuses.

With a combined turnover of around £130m and clear ambitions for growth and improvement, this is an organisation that is forward‑looking, values expertise and encourages people to contribute ideas and shape the future. There has rarely been a more interesting time to join us.
