Job summary

Sellick Partnership Limited - Private Practice seeks a Construction & Engineering Associate/Senior Associate (5+ PQE) in Leeds City Centre. You will advise on complex construction matters for developers, contractors, funders and investors across non-contentious and contentious matters, including adjudication and arbitration.

The role involves drafting/negotiating contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), professional appointments and warranties while supporting cross-team transactions and mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Be a Construction Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.
• Experience advising on construction matters across contentious and non-contentious work.
• Candidates with predominantly non-contentious experience are encouraged to apply.
• Be confident managing complex matters while delivering exceptional client service.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.

Responsibilities

A highly regarded, Legal 500-ranked national law firm is seeking a Construction & Engineering Associate / Senior Associate to join its growing Construction team in Leeds City Centre.This is an exciting opportunity to join a team entering a new phase of growth following continued investment and expansion. Working alongside highly respected specialists, you'll advise on a broad range of complex construction matters while playing a key role in the continued development of the team.The successful Construction & Engineering Solicitor will work with an impressive client base across the construction, real estate and energy sectors, advising developers, contractors, funders, investors and commercial organisations on a wide variety of high-value projects.

The role will include:

• Advising on, drafting and negotiating a range of construction contracts, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC agreements.
• Advising on professional appointments, collateral warranties and wider construction documentation.
• Supporting Real Estate, Energy and other specialist teams on transactions requiring construction expertise.
• Advising on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, including adjudication, arbitration and litigation where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal advice.
• Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Playing an active role in networking, business development, client training and marketing initiatives to support the continued growth of the team.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a Construction Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.
• Have strong experience advising on construction matters, with experience across both contentious and non-contentious work being desirable.
• Candidates with predominantly non-contentious experience are also encouraged to apply.
