A leading firm in energy infrastructure is seeking a Consents Advisor to manage regulatory approvals for major projects across the South of England. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in consents and strong communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary of £45-52k, along with benefits such as 24-26 days holiday, pension, and healthcare.
We're looking for a proactive and well‑organised Consents Advisor to support the delivery of key energy infrastructure projects across the South of England. This role plays a vital part in ensuring regulatory approvals are secured on time and that stakeholder relationships are managed with clarity and care throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting to the Consents Manager, you'll help drive progress across SEPD by combining technical insight with confident communication. You'll coordinate the consents process, uphold regulatory compliance, and build strong working relationships with local authorities, environmental bodies, landowners, and community representatives.
Managing consents and approvals for major infrastructure projects
Navigating planning regulations, environmental legislation, and land rights
Building relationships with councils, landowners, community groups, and environmental bodies
Supporting stakeholder engagement and public consultations
Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for internal and external use
Identifying risks and helping the team develop smart mitigation strategies
Liaising with engineers and project managers to keep timelines smooth and compliant
Supporting the wider team – including geospatial analysts and engagement officers – to foster collaboration and high performance
3‑5 years’ experience in consents, permitting, or regulatory compliance
Strong grasp of planning law, environmental frameworks, or land access
Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and stakeholder‑facing
Project coordination chops: juggling deadlines, priorities, and people
Confidence with Microsoft Office and consents management systems
A proactive mindset and problem‑solving approach
Willingness to travel between sites and attend stakeholder meetings
