Reporting to the Consents Manager, you'll help drive progress across SEPD by combining technical insight with confident communication. You'll coordinate the consents process, uphold regulatory compliance, and build strong working relationships with local authorities, environmental bodies, landowners, and community representatives.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing consents and approvals for major infrastructure projects

  • Navigating planning regulations, environmental legislation, and land rights

  • Building relationships with councils, landowners, community groups, and environmental bodies

  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and public consultations

  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for internal and external use

  • Identifying risks and helping the team develop smart mitigation strategies

  • Liaising with engineers and project managers to keep timelines smooth and compliant

  • Supporting the wider team – including geospatial analysts and engagement officers – to foster collaboration and high performance

What you’ll bring
  • 3‑5 years’ experience in consents, permitting, or regulatory compliance

  • Strong grasp of planning law, environmental frameworks, or land access

  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and stakeholder‑facing

  • Project coordination chops: juggling deadlines, priorities, and people

  • Confidence with Microsoft Office and consents management systems

  • A proactive mindset and problem‑solving approach

  • Willingness to travel between sites and attend stakeholder meetings

Benefits
  • Competitive salary (£45‑52k)

  • Site and office‑based role with travel across the South

  • 24‑26 days holiday + pension + healthcare

  • Discounts with major retailers, cycle‑to‑work scheme, and EAP

  • Inclusive, values‑led culture with a commitment to doing what we say we’ll do
