Job description

Because you’re an outstanding Conference & Events Assistant you’ll know exactly how to deal with such requests (believe me, there will be weirder) – this means you won’t be scared of the unknown, you’ll actually love it! You’ll also know Angela, (one of your favourite regulars) is partial to trying whatever special is on the menu, so she gives you the nod and you have it on order; but you’ll be just as passionate about ensuring each and every guest receives the same treatment, paying attention to those little details, that makes them leave with a smile.

What you’ll be doing as a Conference & Events Assistant
  • Setting up and breaking down conference rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas, including furniture, AV equipment, and materials, ensuring everything is correctly arranged and restored.
  • Handling the delivery and preparation of event materials (e.g., stationery, notice boards, name plates) and managing logistics like catering and room bookings.
  • Delivering, operating, and troubleshooting audio-visual systems, such as presentations, video conferencing, and event control systems.
  • Serving as a point of contact, providing support and information, and delivering excellent customer service to event attendees and clients.
  • Providing support on the day of the event, including registering delegates, assisting the onsite team, and responding to immediate needs or emergencies.
  • Ensuring that all guests experience an outstanding level of service throughout their visit
  • Ensuring that every guest experiences a safe visit, exceeding all expectations surrounding cleanliness
  • Engage, build and develop relationships with guests, assessing their needs and flexing style and approach appropriately
  • Being attentive to all guests and looking for opportunities to up-sell and make recommendations to enhance their experience
  • Responding promptly to guest complaints and finding ways to turnaround any negative feedback
  • Keeping up to date with hotel facilities, promotions and the local market area, so as to be able to effectively assist guests
  • Looking for ways to deliver continuous improvements to the guest experience.
What’ll make you a great fit for this Conference & Events Assistant role
  • It doesn’t matter where you’ve gained your experience, as long as you have incredible customer service abilities and confidence to anticipate and deliver on guests needs
  • You’ll enjoy using tech – we have lots of it to make your life easier and our guests experience more seamless
  • You’ll love people – and as a result, have great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Details? You love them! You’ll be incredibly attentive with guests as a result
  • Flexible and able to remain focused on results under pressure and to challenging deadlines
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Hard-working but FUN!
The benefits
  • Discounts across retail, restaurants, events etc (because we know life isn’t just about work)
  • Family and Friends discounts in hotels across the Kew Green Hotels estate
  • International Travel at Employee Rate for other branded hotels within our brand family (and you’re not just limited to good old Britain – our family has hotels that span all over the world!)
  • Meals for free on shift – hard work is hungry work!
  • Progression Room to grow, with opportunities across the UK and internationally
  • Uniform provided
  • Flexible attitude and working hours.
