Job summary

Breedon Group plc in Grantham is seeking a Concrete Plant Supervisor to lead daily production at the Grantham Concrete Plant. You will oversee the batching system, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, and manage plant logistics.

The role requires a hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to coordinate with drivers and suppliers to maintain equipment and meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• General mechanical and electrical understanding of machinery in the concrete plant and the ability to identify faults and report accordingly.
• Flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work.
• Motivated with experience of plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily checks of all safety critical equipment in line with company standards
• Operate loading shovels or telehandlers/forklifts to re-stock storage bins and stockpile aggregate deliveries
• Ensure proactive communication of any near misses or hazards to Health & Safety Department and Line Management
• Ensure production is in line with customer specification and required technical standards
• Manage all constituent material stocks and reorder as required from the various suppliers
• Daily checks carried out and recorded as required by the environmental permits
• Manage and control truck mixer/tipper/cement tanker drivers operating within the plant
• Supervision of driver fleet on site

Description

We are currently seeking a Concrete Plant Supervisor to join the team based in Grantham, Nottinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the production of ready-mix concrete, using a computerised batching system along with supervising the day-to-day safe and efficient running of the plant. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Carry out daily checks of all safety critical equipment in line with company standards
• Operate loading shovels or telehandlers/forklifts to re-stock storage bins and stockpile aggregate deliveries
• Ensure focused, proactive communication of any potential near miss / hazards within the work area to the Company's Health & Safety Department and Line Management
• Ensure production is in line with customer specification and required technical standards
• Manage all constituent material stocks and reorder as required from the various suppliers
• Daily checks carried out and recorded as required by the environmental permits
• Manage and control truck mixer/tipper/cement tanker drivers operating within the plant
• Supervision of driver fleet on site

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

You will have a general mechanical / electrical understanding of machinery equipment within the concrete plant and be able to identify faults and report accordingly.

The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive & versatile approach to work. This position is ideal for a highly motivated person with experience of plant operations.

You will have an energetic “hands on” approach and the ability to anticipate problems, consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues.
