Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting experienced Concrete Finishers for a long-term project in Plymouth. The role requires a Level 2 NVQ in Concrete Finishing, CSCS Blue card, and a Safety Critical Medical. You will work on concrete finishing tasks on a major infrastructure site, following drawings and safety procedures.

In this on-site position, you will contribute to levelling and finishing concrete, using hand and power tools, while coordinating with formwork and site teams. BPSS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 NVQ in Concrete Finishing.
• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card.
• Safety Critical Medical.
• Previous experience on construction or civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques.

Concrete Finisher - Plymouth

Location: Plymouth

Duration: Long-term work

Basic Rate: £20.81 per hour

Overtime 1: £31.22 per hour

Overtime 2: £41.62 per hour

Quals: Level 2 NVQ in Concrete Finishing

We are currently looking for experienced Concrete Finishers to join a major long-term construction project in Plymouth.

Duties will include:

• Carrying out concrete finishing works to a high standard
• Floating, trowelling and finishing freshly poured concrete
• Levelling and smoothing concrete surfaces
• Repairing and making good concrete where required
• Working to line, level and specified tolerances
• Using hand and power tools associated with concrete finishing
• Working alongside formwork, steel fixing and site teams
• Following site drawings, specifications and safe working procedures
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site

Competencies / Requirements:

• Level 2 NVQ in Concrete Finishing
• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
• Safety Critical Medical
• Previous experience working as a Concrete Finisher on construction or civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team
• Must be able to meet the project's BPSS security clearance requirements

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the security-sensitive nature of the project, all successful applicants will be required to complete BPSS security clearance before starting on site.

Applicants must be able to provide the required documentation and information to successfully complete the vetting process, including proof of identity, right to work and employment/history checks.

Due to the project’s security requirements, applicants must meet the required nationality eligibility criteria, including being a national of a NATO member country where applicable.

All offers and start dates will be subject to successful completion of the required security vetting and clearance process.
