Job description
Overview

We are looking for welcoming, motivated and proactive Concierge / Front of House Assistants to join our team at the brand-new Slough Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a modern, innovative facility that will transform access to diagnostic services for our local community in central Slough. As the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth, safe and positive experience within the CDC. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to support patient flow and uphold the highest standards of customer service.

Clinic Support Function
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all Trust staff to provide an accurate, efficient, professional and seamless service to patients and visitors.
  • To check patient demographics are correct and amend or update details on EPIC when necessary, in accordance with standards set by Information Governance.
  • Coordinate with administrative and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
Reception Function
  • Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner, directing the patient to the appropriate area.
  • Encourage patients in a polite manner to use self‑check‑in machines where applicable, assisting as appropriate, using Epic and ICE systems.
  • Provide clear directions and support for patients navigating the centre.
  • Offer reassurance and assistance to anxious or vulnerable patients.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe reception and waiting area.
  • Deal with patients in a polite and respectful manner complying with their requests where possible and where it is not possible to deal with them with dignity and respect.
  • Communicate with visitors who may speak little or no English and may be in pain or distressed, ensuring their culture is respected.
