  • Contract: Full‑time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

Role Overview

We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • All aspects of planning, delivering and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
  • Developing, updating and improving course materials as appropriate.
  • Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials.
  • Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
  • Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
  • Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and student progression.
Qualifications
  • Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
  • Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of at least two of the following areas: Programming and software development; Web development; Database systems; Cloud computing; Networking; Cybersecurity; IoT and emerging technologies; Business IT systems; IT management; AI and machine learning; Operating systems; UI/UX.
  • Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.
  • Be able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
  • Be able to work with diverse groups of people.
Desirable
  • Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years, or Fellowship of HEA or international equivalent.
  • Have experience of design/development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.
