Role

Computer Science Lead

Salary & Contract

£48,557 – £57,928 per annum plus London Premium of £4,201. Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week). Up to 10% bonus.

Scope of Teaching & Research

We are looking for academic professionals to inspire our Computing students in one or more of the following areas:

  • Software Development and Engineering
  • Usability Design
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science

Enthusiastic academic professionals are invited to contribute to teaching, assessment and curriculum design in Computing disciplines at TU London. You will apply creativity, innovation and subject expertise to deliver an outstanding student learning experience.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include the leadership and delivery of innovative, engaging and effective teaching; providing pastoral support; supervising projects; contributing to professional development and business engagement; managing people and programme leadership; producing documentation and collaborating with colleagues to disseminate best practice.

Qualifications

You will have knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of effective teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Qualified to master’s level or hold extensive professional expertise/advanced practitioner status. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential. Experience teaching a range of Computing subjects and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Skills & Expertise

Exceptional oral and written communication skills; IT skills essential to produce effective materials and engage students. Demonstrable ability to exercise initiative, creativity and judgement in applying appropriate approaches to teaching, learning, research and scholarly activities. Capability to support student retention through pastoral care.

Additional Information

Due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by UKVI, this post may qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.

Selection Process
  1. Longlisting Stage:
    Candidates who meet the initial criteria will be longlisted and invited to submit a short video presentation. Full details and guidance will be provided at that stage.
  2. Shortlisting and Interview:
    Following review of the video presentations, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview. If shortlisted, interview will take place on 27 November 2025. The University may ask you to participate in a number of selection activities as part of the recruitment process for this vacancy.
