Job summary

HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Limited in Snowdonia is seeking a CAD Technician to produce and amend 2D drawings in line with client and HOCHTIEF standards. You will manage drawings and document delivery, and oversee design cloud services and CDE for the project using ProjectWise/Themis/ACC.

The role supports the project team with BIM outputs, including 3D models, clash detection, and 4D schedules, and contributes to BIM Execution Plans.

Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD for 2D drawings and minor 3D tasks.
• Familiar with BIM-related processes and standard CAD/BIM workflows.
• Able to interpret and apply client/standards in a construction project.

HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Limited is a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.

About the role

We are looking to expand our team with skilled and enthusiastic individuals to deliver a tunnelling project in the beautiful region of Snowdonia, North Wales. Our work will significantly enhance the visual impact of the area, burying a network of overhead cables and removing a number of pylons to restore and protect the natural beauty, wildlife and environmental heritage of this precious landscape.

The project requires a CAD Technician who will be responsible for producing and/or amending information and graphical 2D drawings in accordance with the client or HOCHTIEF (UK) standard methods, procedures and manuals.

You will manage the drawings and issue electronic and hard copies of drawing and design documentation and manage the design cloud services and CDE for the Project using (ProjectWise/Themis/ACC).

The role will require you to also support the Project team in delivering beneficial outputs from the Information model (i.e. space proofing, clash detection, 3D models, 4D schedules, Quantity take-offs, still images) and prepare drawings and models to demonstrate the viability of the design and construction proposals.

You will also support the Design Manager executing the successful delivery of a BIM Project including 2D & BIM Execution Plans.

About you

It is essential that you have a comprehensive understanding of construction activities and infrastructure project and applied knowledge of BS/PAS/ISO and their processes.

Knowledge of infrastructure design processes is also required within the role.

You must be able to identify, interpret and apply required industry/ client/ internal CAD/BIM standards and complete project delivery using the core 2D/3D CAD applications of AutoCAD with knowledge of Bentley systems.

Please note that this role will be site based at Snowdonia VIP 5 days per week.
