Job summary

Volution Ventilation UK is seeking a CFD Design Engineer to develop and lead the CFD capability within the Volution Ventilation Group Technical Team, shaping simulation-led design across our product portfolio.

The role focuses on strengthening expertise in fluid flow, thermodynamics and aerodynamics, applying CFD to improve performance, innovation and time to market, and collaborating with design engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing CFD capability within a technical team.
• Ability to plan and conduct CFD studies on ventilation products.
• Strong communication of modelling assumptions and risks.
• Experience correlating CFD predictions with experimental data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the company’s CFD capability, tools and best practices.
• Plan and conduct CFD studies across ventilation products.
• Develop robust simulation models covering airflow, pressure distribution, heat transfer and product performance.
• Provide accurate performance predictions and communicate modelling assumptions, limitations and risks.
• Translate simulation results into practical engineering recommendations for product optimisation and compliance.
• Work closely with design engineers to influence product geometry and performance from the concept stage.
• Integrate CFD into the new product-development process to reduce technical risk and physical prototyping.
• Correlate CFD predictions with experimental data and develop robust verification and validation methods.
• Plan and deliver CFD activities across multiple concurrent projects in line with agreed priorities.
• Communicate technical findings clearly and share CFD knowledge across engineering and non-specialist teams.

Hours of work

Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.55pm, Friday 8.45am – 4.25pm

The Role

As the CFD Design Engineer, you will develop towards leading and operating the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capability within the Volution Ventilation Group Technical Team.

The role will support the continued development and embedding of simulation-led design within product development, build technical expertise in fluid flow, thermodynamics and aerodynamics, and help ensure CFD is effectively applied to improve product performance, innovation and time to market.

Key responsibilities
