A UK aerospace start-up is seeking a Composites Design Engineer in Wytham. You will design and analyze composite airframe components using Siemens NX, contributing directly to the development of cutting-edge electric aircraft. The ideal candidate has a strong background in aerospace and composite design, along with a relevant engineering degree. The role offers the opportunity for rapid progression from concept to build in a dynamic team environment.
A UK aerospace start-up developing a new class of lightweight, electrically powered aircraft is growing its internal structures capability and is now looking for a Composites Design Engineer to join the team.
This is a hands‑on role within a small, talented engineering group working across concept development, detailed design, analysis and build support. You'll have the chance to influence key structural decisions on a novel aircraft platform and see your work progress quickly into test and development.
You'll own composite component design from first principles through to production‑ready detail, using Siemens NX for modelling and contributing directly to structural analysis, optimisation and documentation. You'll also work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure designs align with real‑world processes.
The role suits someone who is comfortable balancing design creativity with practical engineering judgement – and who enjoys working in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.
We're looking for a competent Composites Design Engineer with strong aerospace experience and a solid understanding of both composite design and analysis.
Experience with FEA tools, flight test support or structural test correlation is helpful but not essential.
If you're interested in contributing to one of the UK's most exciting developments in advanced air mobility, I'd be happy to share more details. Feel free to get in touch for a confidential conversation
