Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Trim, fit, and finish composite components to required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Assemble jigs and fixtures following engineering drawings or written instructions.
  • Inspect parts for surface defects and dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain tools and support TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) initiatives.

Fitter / Trimmer - Composites

Coventry (Bayton Road, Exhall)

£15.00 - £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Working Pattern:

  • Until 31st December 2025: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 2:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 11:00am
  • From 1st January 2026: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm (Friday off - 4-day working week)
The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fitter / Trimmer to join a well-established composites manufacturer based in Coventry. The role involves trimming, fitting, and finishing composite tools and components to a high standard, ensuring quality, precision, and customer specifications are met. You'll work as part of a supportive production team, contributing to high-performance projects across motorsport, aerospace, and automotive sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trim, fit, and finish composite components to required tolerances and quality standards
  • Assemble jigs and fixtures following engineering drawings or written instructions
  • Inspect parts for surface defects and dimensional accuracy
  • Maintain tools and support TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) initiatives
  • Contribute to 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices to ensure an efficient working environment
  • Work to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Support team objectives and communicate effectively with production and management teams
About You
  • Minimum of two years' experience within the composites industry as a Fitter or Laminator
  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings
  • Confident using manual measuring equipment and hand tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
  • Understanding of composite assembly for race cars, road cars, or similar applications
