Job summary

Planet Recruitment is seeking an experienced Composite Rework Technician to support a prestigious automotive programme. You will rework and rectify vehicle panels and assemblies to OEM quality standards before progressing in production.

Responsibilities include filler application, primer and paint prep, carbon fibre rework, and detailed inspections. Immediate start on a 3-week contract with potential extension, working in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive rework or body repair.
• Experience with composites and carbon fibre components.
• Skilled in filler application and surface preparation.
• Ability to identify and rectify cosmetic defects to a high standard.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environments.

• Rework front fender assemblies and replace mounting brackets.
• Apply filler using Teroson PU 92 on door assemblies.
• Finish fillers and paint preparation on bonnet assemblies.
• Apply primer and perform paint prep after repairs.
• Rectify scratches, dents and defects to OEM standards.
• Rework exposed carbon fibre components with approved materials.
• Sand, flatten and finish composite and painted panels.
• Perform detailed visual inspections and quality checks.
• Work to engineering drawings and repair instructions.

Composite Rework Technician

We are currently seeking experienced Composite Rework Technicians to support a prestigious automotive manufacturer on a specialist vehicle programme. This role will involve carrying out rework and rectification activities on vehicle panels and assemblies, ensuring all components meet OEM quality standards before progressing through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Rework and modification of front fender assemblies, including replacement of mounting brackets.
• Carry out filler application using Teroson PU 92 on door assemblies.
• Perform filler and finishing work on bonnet assemblies.
• Complete primer application and paint preparation activities following repairs where required.
• Rectify scratches, dents, surface imperfections and manufacturing defects.
• Carry out rework on exposed carbon fibre components using approved materials and repair processes.
• Sanding, flatting, preparation and finishing of composite and painted panels.
• Conduct detailed visual inspections and quality checks.
• Work to engineering drawings, repair instructions and OEM standards.

Experience Required

• Previous experience in automotive rework, composite repair, vehicle preparation, paint preparation or body repair.
• Experience working with composite panels and carbon fibre components.
• Skilled in filler application, panel rectification and surface preparation.
• Ability to identify and rectify cosmetic defects to a high standard.
• Previous experience within automotive manufacturing, prototype, low-volume or luxury vehicle environments.
