Overview

As Obsolescence Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring product sustainability and supply chain resilience across complex systems used in mission-critical defence applications.

You will:

  • Lead and evolve the company's approach to Component Obsolescence Management
  • Review, develop and maintain compliance processes within the Component Engineering Team
  • Manage proactive and reactive obsolescence status for thousands of components
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams, centres of excellence, and portfolio groups
  • Influence best practice across the business and support international initiatives
  • Share your expertise through training, reviews, and development activities

You'll work alongside a talented team of Component Engineers who manage supplier relationships and data collection, ensuring robust reporting and proactive management of component obsolescence.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Knowledge and experience in Obsolescence Management, tools, and techniques
  • Understanding of BS 62402:2001 requirements
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across engineering and production functions

Desirable:

  • Experience using tools such as Matrix PLM, SAP, Silicon Expert, or IHS
